Founded in 2001 by Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus, as well their childhood friend Dylan Anderson, Atticus is a musically inspired clothing line run by musicians. Atticus has a goal to give today’s generation a choice, to inspire those who may not fit certain conforms, and allow them to build their own style and reputation. The Atticus name and logo of the “Resting Bird” which depicts a bird lying on its back, comes from the literary character Atticus Finch from the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, who was a strong fighter for what was good even though it seemed hopeless. Besides this, another inspiration for Atticus was another literary connection of Herodus Atticus, who was a Greek rhetorician who dedicated the majority of his life and money supporting the arts. These two literary inspirations depicted what Atticus was all about. Atticus, being a musically inspired brand, has found much of its influence from many musicians and bands and heavily supports the musical community. They have released three volumes of their Dragging The Lake compilation CD, which includes music from bands such as Blink-182, Alkaline Trio, New Found Glory, The Sounds, Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday, Lydia, Death Can for Cutie, and many more bands. They created this CD to give back to the musical community which has done so much to inspire them, and help to get smaller bands out there. Atticus incorporates their logo with their musical inspiration to create unique designs, such as the ‘In Crowd’ design, which shows the silhouette of a crowd inside their logo.
BodyPUNK’S offers a unique selection of T-shirts, jeans, polos, hoodies, jackets, belts, backpacks, wallets, and hats made and inspired by musicians for musicians. |
